The Quality score is a metric created by the reporting software, which a scores based on all of metrics in Competitor section of the SEO reports. This means that the score, which runs on a scale of 1 to 100, is using the Moz, Majestic, Alexa and WHOIS data as the basis of its rough calculation of quality.


MozRank represents a link popularity score. It reflects the importance of any given web page on the Internet. Pages earn MozRank by the number and quality of other pages that link to them. The higher the quality of the incoming links, the higher the MozRank. MozRank runs on a scale of 1 to 10.

To Improve Your MozRank Score:
Build relationships. Find websites with a high MozRank and create a relationship with the website owner. This in turn may lead to a link to your website. If a website has a lot of inbound links from other high authority websites, it is considered to be a high authority site itself.

MozTrust is Moz's global link trust score. It is similar to MozRank but rather than measuring link popularity, it measures link trust. Receiving links from sources which have inherent trust, such as the homepages of major university websites or certain governmental web pages, is a strong trust endorsement. MozTrust runs on a scale of 1 to 10.

To Improve your MozTrust Score:
  • Build more high authoritative links. Acquiring links from well respected sites such as schools and government entities will help your site's authority.
  • Build relationships with other website owners and acquire relevant backlinks to your website.
  • Submit backlinks at business listing directories that have categories related to your website.
  • Some forms of advertising offers benefits directly related to SEO. (think of advertising as paid backlinks)

Domain Authority represents Moz's best prediction about how a website will perform in search engine rankings. Use Domain Authority when comparing one site to another or tracking the “strength” of your website over time. Calculated by combining all other Moz link metrics (linking root domains, number of total links, mozRank, mozTrust, etc.) into a single score. Domain Authority runs on a scale of 1 to 100.

The number of pages listed represents the number of active page found to be live and indexed by Google and other major search engines. Having more pages does not automatically mean that a website is going to have better SEO score and rank better. The combined quality score calculated by MozRank is derived in part from an average of how all pages are each ranked as far as importance.
  • If this number seems lower than normal, the then search engine may be having trouble crawling and indexing pages within the site.
  • If the number listed seems higher than normal, this could indicate that the site is using URLs with parameters that are indexed as live pages.
Keep in mind that more pages does not always equate to higher SEO scores and better search engine placement. The quality of the content within each page is more important than the number of pages within a site. Every site is different, so most cases it's hard to compare websites based on the number of pages published. Knowing the number of pages that a site contains helps to provide an basic understanding of the size of any given site.


The number of links represents the number of verified backlinks that have been found. A "backlink" is simply a link to your website that is found on any other website.

Backlinks are a important factor used by search engine algorithms to determine the importance of websites. For example, a website that has a lot of backlinks to different pages from very relevant sources is going to rank better than a website with less backlinks, as well as sites that may have more backlinks from less relevant sources.
